Kagiso Rabada made history on his international debut for South Africa by taking a hat-trick in the one-day international against Bangladesh today.
The seamer ripped the heart out of the Bangladeshi batting order early on in the first match of the team’s ODI series.
Rabada bowled Tamim Iqbal, had Litton Das caught at midwicket and trapped Mahmudullah in front his stumps to complete the hat-trick.
He becomes only the second player in ODI history to achieve the feat – Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam was the first in 2014 when he picked up three successive wickets against Zimbabwe.
Rabada claimed three more wickets to finish with figures of 6-16 as the Proteas bowled out the Bangladesh team for just 160 in Mirpur.
The match continues with South Africa 85-2.
